This website has a mission to preserve historical data and artifacts of the villages of Altamahaw and Ossipee in the township of Morton Township in the county of Alamance and in the state of North Carolina. Much has been written and preserved about other areas of the county; however, very little has been gathered , written or preserved about this area. The area is located in the northwestern section of Alamance County. It was designated as Morton Township just after the Civil War circa 1868.
